Dating back to the 1860’s.
Organized from a brush arbor meeting around 1860. The first building was located on the Old Manistee Road.
That building burned and for a long period of time they met at the Mt. Gilead Church at Perdue Hill. Later the church held services in a small school building, then they built another building in the Manistee area. In 1986 the current building was erected.
