Established in 1845
Present Building built in 1930.
Previous building was located on the West side of the Courthouse Square.
235 North Mt. Pleasant Ave. Monroeville.
According to the records of Mr. George Jones of Monroeville, The first Presbyterian Church was built in 1853. Before then they probably met in homes and other places. The first building was two-stories and was owned jointly by both the Presbyterians, who occupied the lower floor and the Masons who occupied the second Floor.
The Masons moved out and the building was renovated and the second floor was removed.
When the church moved to the present location, lawyer Ralph Jones, bought it for $700 and rented it to his brother-in-law, Lyston Allen Hixon, for a feed store.
The Masons sold their interest in the building in 1914. Jones bought it in 1934.
The original building was built by Neil McCorvey, a native of Old Scotland.
