This church was built from bricks purchased from a mill at Kalem, AL. Mr. Tom Ivey once owned that mill. Mr. Ivey sold the mill to a company in Georgia and they closed it and had it dismantled. Some sources say it was in close proximity of the current Scotch Plywood mill presently located at Kalem.

The citizens in the community cleaned the bricks and used them to build this church.
