“August 10, 1888. Monroe County, AL. Deed Book 45, pg. 803.John Monroe Stacey and his wife, Sarah, donated 2 acres for the establishment of a church and school in the NW1/4 of Section 8, Township 5N, Range 6E, Monroe County, AL. J.M. Jones, witness, and J.P. Frye, Justice of Peace. Today, Pleasant Hill Church is located at the intersection of Bear Creek Road and Shiloh Road. Grimes School no longer exists. “The original church was built from material salvaged from the Manistee site. It was located between the now church and the cemetery fence. It was torn down and the now structure was built. Been a few additions added on to it along with the dining hall.” Ronnie Lambert
