Soybean Harvest

There are still a few farmers in Monroe County Alabama that produce Soybeans. I recently had the opportunity to do a video of this John Deere Combine running out from Frisco City Alabama.

Indian Springs Baptist Church

I recently had the opportunity to visit Indian Springs Baptist Church in North Monroe County Al.

Indian Springs Baptist Church was built about 1825 near springs used by the local Indians. This original wood framed building has survived virtually unchanged with no modern conveniences.

Peanut Harvest 2020

Here we see a John Deere Tractor pulling a peanut combine gathering peanuts. It then dumps the peanuts into the nut buggy which hauls them to the waiting trailer which will carry them to the peanut storage facility.

This operation was happening near Megargle Al.

I hope you enjoy the video.

High Cotton

I recently had the opportunity to sit down with my friend Jordan Elbreth and listen to his story. He is absolutely a unique and interesting guy to hang out with.

He shares his beginnings and how he got the name High Cotton for his business and much more.

He has so much wisdom and information to share. His is a story of true hard work and perseverance.

It is amazing to understand that we can actually make money from what others throw away.

Shiloh Primitive Baptist still stands today. Although there have been no regular services there since the 1980’s the rich tradition still lives on of years gone by in the hearts and minds of many who had loved ones of the past that were once part of that great Church.   Listen closely as Mrs sims tells the story.
