Simerly Fire Tower was built in 1963.

It is located on Al hwy 59 South of Stapleton Al.

Thousands of people pass Simerly Tower every day traveling to and from the beaches in Southern Baldwin county al.

Simerly is the Southern most tower in Alabama.

It is a 100′ Aermotor MC-39 tower it replaced a 91′ creosote lookout tower.

  1. I don’t have any other information on the towers. But I cannot respond to you on Youtube (they won’t let me) so I am using this opportunity to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. I love Alabama and history. And your videos are very well done. On all the tower videos, I just can’t imagine climbing those stairs every day, although I used to know a girl who did at the Elberta fire tower years ago. It no longer exists. Your videos are very stable and clear. I think I’ve watched all your videos.
    I also watch a lot of videos visiting cemeteries, especially forgotten ones, and some of the videos are not so clear as yours. Many of them jump around so much you don’t have time to make out what you are even looking at.
    I am a subscriber to your Youtube channel. Thank you so much. Also enjoyed the farming videos.
